Deferred Payment Plan (DPP)​

Overview

  • Offers students the option to pay student fees and on-campus housing, if applicable, in three monthly installments per semester.

  • The 1st DPP installment is 40% of the semester account balance, and the 2nd and 3rd installments are 30% each.

  • The deferred payment plan is only offered for the fall and spring semesters.  It is not offered for summer session fees.

  • DPP installments are due as noted on our Fee Deadlines page.

Additional Details

  • To qualify, the current semester balance must be at least $500 after taking into account authorized financial aid, if applicable.

  • A $40 participation fee is billed to your student account when your DPP enrollment is approved.

  • A DPP enrollment request is only good for one semester. A new enrollment request must be made each semester.

  • DPP enrollment can help you to avoid being dropped from courses at the beginning of the term, but only if you pay the 40% first installment by the fee payment deadline.

  • ​​What is the deadline to enroll in the DPP?

Students can enroll in the DPP until the semester fee payment deadline. 


  • How do I request enrollment in the DPP?

  • When will I find out whether my enrollment request has been accepted?

SBS will begin reviewing DPP enrollment requests once student fees and housing charges are posted to student accounts.  You will receive an email notifying you that your enrollment has been approved or denied when our review is complete.


  • How do I cancel my DPP enrollment?

There is no need to cancel your DPP enrollment.   If your student account is paid in full by the fee payment deadline, whether paid by financial aid or by you, the $40 participation fee will be reversed (in the week following the fee payment deadline).   The resulting $40 credit will be refunded or applied to future charges.

  • What if I am late with a DPP installment payment?

     ​If your DPP installment payment is not received by fee payment deadline, the following may result:

     A $50 late payment fee may be charged;

     A hold may be placed on your account preventing registration for future semesters and affecting access to other University services;

     If your first installment is not paid by the fee payment deadline, the entire account balance will be considered due for purposes of determining if you should be dropped from courses.

     If you are a Housing resident, termination of tenancy may be initiated and you may be evicted from Housing.
