Deferred Payment Plan (DPP)​

Overview

  • Beginning fall 2017, UC Merced offers students the option to pay student fees and on-campus housing, if applicable, in four monthly installments per semester.

  • Each DPP installment is 25% of the semester account balance.

  • The deferred payment plan is only offered for the fall and spring semesters.  It is not offered for summer session fees.

  • DPP installments are due as noted on our Fee Deadlines page.

Additional Details

  • To qualify, the current semester balance must be at least $500 after taking into account authorized financial aid, if applicable.

  • A $40 DPP Participation fee is charged each semester you enroll in the plan and must be paid during the DPP enrollment process.

  • The first DPP installment must be paid during the DPP enrollment process.
  • A DPP enrollment request is only good for one semester. A new DPP enrollment request must be made each semester you wish to take advantage of the plan.

  • ​​What is the deadline to enroll in the DPP?

Students can enroll in the fall DPP until August 31. 


  • How do I request enrollment in the DPP?

DPP enrollment requests can be made through the MyBill website beginning August 1.  The MyBill link is located on the student portal at my.ucmerced.edu


  • When will I find out whether my enrollment request has been accepted?

The MyBill website will indicate if you are eligible for the plan, and enrollment will be immediate once you accept the terms and conditions and pay the first DPP installment and the $40 Particpation fee.


  • How do I cancel my DPP enrollment?

There is no need to cancel your DPP enrollment.  The $40 Participation fee is non-refundable. 

 

  • What are the due dates for DPP payments?

  • What if I am late with a DPP installment payment?

     ​If your DPP installment payment is not received by fee payment deadline, the following may result:

     A $12.50 DPP late payment fee may be charged;

     A hold may be placed on your account preventing registration for future semesters and affecting access to other University services;

     If you are a Housing resident, termination of tenancy may be initiated and you may be evicted from Housing.
